But without a potential promise, the presence of an audience isn't enough to add sustaining value to the performance.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Without a potential promise there is no sustaining value. Without a sustaining value the audience disperses -  in search of another performance that holds a potential promise.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Without an audience Ryan Seacrest is simply a guy with a really big smile.
